You need to be a on masterpage in order to move an item to the foreground or background. Just go to your master, select your item and go to Object Menu &gt; Move To &gt;. 

I hope that helps and we just have to wait and see how Muse evolves over time to provide additional capability in this area.

When I sow your post I just went to Adobe site to update my Muse, but when I was looking for &quot;Object &gt; Move to Background or Foreground&quot; on Muse 4.0 there is nothing there.
