Thank you for the detailed video. Here is my question: When I ftp to my host using the new muse ftp interface, it does not update after the first upload. For instance, I made a quick site, uploaded it, then saved a version of that site, made changes the next week and uploaded it and the changes are not made. As a work-around, I have to download the html in every case, save it over the previous code, and upload directly through my ftp server. So even though the update includes a way to ftp directly, there seems to be a glitch. Do you know anything about it?

HI Erica,

I can't tell you exactly what edits need to be made to the HTML since every single web host is different. I really do wish it was as easy telling you to edit one particular line of code, but there are so many variables I can't give you a direct answer. That is why my recommendation is that if you use Business Catalyst as your host, you should use the built in form widgets. If you are using something else to host, you will need to use another form provider like Jot Form or someone else.

Thanks again for asking.

Hi James,

In the video, you mention that in order for the contact form to work on a 3rd party host, some editing needs to be done to the html. Okay, I'd like to do that instead of using Jot Form. Could you be more specific about the edits that need to be made? Thank you:)

Great question. To be perfectly honest, both of them behave pretty much the same. The only difference that I can see is that there are different initial graphics and properties setup within them.

We do have project based Muse course that is due out next month that will spend more time with the widgets. For the time being, I recommend that you check out this new site below that features widgets that you can download and use in your own site.
http://www.adobekb.com/widget-gallery

The Adobe Help pages have additional information on widgets.

Hello James,

Is it possible to get more in depth tutorials on Widgets? Mainly, the differences between Slideshow Lightboxes vs. Composition Lightboxes? I've looked around a lot on Adobe's help forum for Muse on this topic but haven't seen a lot of info on the subject. It seems both Lightboxes obviously perform similarly, but with the Composition version you can resize the boxes however you want but lose out on captioning functions. And then the Slideshow version is the opposite; it's great if you want captions but all of the boxes have to be the same size and proportions. It drives me crazy!

So any tips, other resources or future videos coming out?

eCommerce is on the Muse teams radar. Therefore it is hopefully only a matter of time before it will be added. For now, you best course of action is to make this request directly to the Muse team here. http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/

This update was released back in mid-august. When you launch Muse it tells you an updated version is available and then you can download it immediately. Technically this update is version 2.0, but Adobe doesn't mention the version since all users will always be up to date since the software is a subscription.

Yes, I agree that is a serious problem. I have been on an airplane and wanted to work on Muse, but I couldn't launch it because it needed an update. The good news is that Adobe is aware of this issue and they are working on updates in the future to address this problem.

Outside of Muse though, I have not had any problems with not being able to use CS6 products (InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc) when not having an internet connection.
