Learning how to use SASS in and of itself will help you not be confused of mixins, magic variables, and functions that’s only available in Compass.

We don’t want another ‘what, $ isn’t part of JavaScript?’ problem with those who take a course with both introduced without communicating a strong distinction that’s memorable for novices.
