live with Lynda interview

Lynda interviews Dr. Michael Wesch in her first Live with Lynda webinar yesterday.

Yesterday, on March 30, 2011, I had the honor of interviewing Dr. Michael Wesch, Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University; an exemplar and pioneer of collaborative teaching methods. His YouTube videos–The Machine is Us/ing UsA Vision of Students Today, and An Anthropological Introduction to Youtube—have inspired millions. It was great to hear from some of his students and get a behind-the-scenes view of his process, including peer-to-peer teaching and assessment/grading. If you’d like to watch the archived webinar, here is the link: http://www.nmc.org/connect/2011/March/30

There will be more Live with Lynda interviews in the coming months!

Excellent. Realistic, honest information from Wesch and his class. Great choice for a lead off interview, and great job with the questions.

On the negative side, the video opening youtube in another browser worked well, but everytime I paused and restarted or tried to listen to a statement again, the window relaunched- don’t know if there’s anything you can do about it. It certainly didn’t ruin the experience.
