  1. Many artists are using the iPad as a drawing and painting tablet. There is now a very versatile version of Art Rage for iPad, and apps such as Brushes, Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile, ArtStudio and Adobe Ideas are increasingly full-featured and popular with artists. Would love a lynda.com tutorial on these.

I would like to see a course on building an iPad App, beginning to end. There are lots of bits and pieces, but I would like to see something that really works and shows how to integrate the various elements into something useful.

Thanks for all the great training.

  3. Michael Fleck says:

I would like to develop apps for training and patient education in our medical facility. Would like to see more information of data use, local storage vs distant storage (size limitations, speed of access, security!).
As mentioned already, the course(s) by Simon Allardice on developing for the iphone is EXCELLENT! He has the ability to present the right amount of information at the right time in a very understandable manner. Outstanding example of effective instruction.

  4. Sally says:

The iPad has quicks in its usage of Mail. Losing mails from inbox spontaneously, creating and saving folders are examples. More in depth instruction and or bug corrections on all aspects Mail and syncing with Calendar & Address Book without having to learn a 3rd party App would be awesome.

  5. Leslie says:

I’d like to see some examples of art created with some of the cool drawing apps that are available and maybe a tutorial on Brushes or SketchBook. Thanks -

  6. I would like to see an app built from start to finish. From concept, programming, all the way to How to submit your app to apple, then once you get approved how to monitor it and update it. Also if it was not approved how to fix the problem. This would be great. From start to finish!!

  7. Jeanne Surber says:

I have an App on the IPAD called GoodReader. It is to help interface reading all kinds of documents but it is not intuitive to use. I have already looked to see if you have it on lynda.com. I agree with also being interested in help for the various drawing programs- or maybe find the best one and do a tutorial on it and we will all follow. I use Inspire Pro. Thanks!!!!

  8. Narcis says:

I would like more information about the basics. If someone want to learn and does not know anything about XCode where to begin? Perhaps you should have another course before “iPhone SDK Essential Training” or a series of programs wiht a clear path.

In the other hand, it would be great to have a clear and simple guide to know how to do simple things in a practical way like how to put a button or how to add another screen. This information exists in the cours but it is mixed with other things and for a beginner this complex and need too much time to separate the basic from the rest.

  9. Tori says:

I would also like to see an entire course on creating an app from start to finish.

  10. Kent says:

Would love to see building an app start to finish – using Flash.

  11. Jim says:

I’d like to see a course in Art Design for iOS. As a programmer I could refer a graphic artist to it with tips on how to prep graphics, screen resolutions, icon sizes, vector vs. pixel graphics etc. Discussions of various media types including conceptual overview of HTML streaming.

  12. Patrick says:

I would also like to see a course on building an app from start to finish.

“iPhone SDK Essential Training” was a good overview, but I didn’t think it went into as much detail as I would of liked. I know CSS and HTML but not OBJECTIVE C. Maybe a class on that would be good too.

  13. Ana says:

It will be great a course where you build an app from start to finish with some video and multimedia

  14. ignite says:

I’d like to see some video training on different workflows/approaches to iOS development. I think different Devs have workflows/approaches to getting things done and it would be helpful to see some.

    I’m interested in…
    • Animations (in depth – not just for gaming but other types of apps as well)
    • Handling Data (in depth)
    • Xcode 4
    • iOS5 (when the beta comes out)

  15. JM says:

I would love to see tutorials covering programs for digital publishing for iPad, including Adobe’s upcoming digital publishing suite. There’s plenty of info out there for interactive magazine design and publishing, but getting that onto an iPad is a bit of a mystery right now…

  16. Dru Kepple says:

My iPad development request (more of a general iOS thing, actually): Core Data. That’s a significant topic to warrant its own course.

  17. @Narcis and @Patrick, an introductory course on Objective-C by Simon Allardice is in production and will be published very soon.

@Dru, we are planning to offering in-depth courses on Core Data and other popular iOS SDK features – stay tuned!
