  1. Fuad Kamal says:

    Developing educational tools.

  2. JohnO says:

I’d like to see lynda.com do a series to how customize the UI when developing for iOS. Something like the site iDev Recipes which breaks down interesting UI elements that have been used in other apps and shows how to build them.

  3. Dean says:

Tools that bring the Ipad more in line with laptop capabilities, ability to develop websites and programs from your Ipad to bring over on to a computer format

  4. Greg says:

I’d like to see “real” lynda.com iPad app instead of the current login window app. One that offers lesson caching for long plane trips. One that is more touch friendly then the current one that requires your to zoom in on links to select. If other apps like TED and others can do it so can you.
The lessons could simply expire according to the user plan.

A beautiful true blue lynda.com iPad app would give more credibility to your lesson plans. I think its about time.

  5. Doug says:

Need more advanced core animation and UIsplitview techniques for iPad. Universal App info would be good too.

  6. Mark says:

It seems like there is so much potential with the iPad to create interactive books & courses that really create an optimized learning environment. It’s not just about reading words on a page, but interacting & doing something with that knowledge.

  7. Vicki says:

Productivity, useful stuff. I’ve had it up to “here” with games!

Beginning. What you need to know BEFORE you actually become an official “developer”, and a specific course that progresses from beginner to advanced.

  8. Marilyn M says:

I’d like to create Educational apps for K-8 students.

  9. Peter Witham says:

Would love to see some CoreData courses.

  10. Mikewh says:

Tips on deploying iPads successfully in K-12 education settings would help me greatly.

  11. Terrance Dickinson says:

Tools to manage transfer of Data to and from the iPad and store that data in folder or equivalent without losing the use of local storage when there is no connection (wifi or USB).
Most of the apps I have tested want to store data in “the cloud” which I feel is a big security risk.

  12. sdb says:

+ Educational apps (for all ages)

  13. Adam Metz says:

The key thing that I’m wondering about is who’s going to become the eLearning leader for corp development on the iPad. Looks like Rosetta Stone will own the language part of the platform, but the latter seems TBD.

  14. DH says:

It would be great to see some training on how to use Flash Builder 4 or Flex 4 to create iPad apps.

  15. Maggie Gilman says:

Working with photography when traveling without a laptop.

  16. Tana says:

Unity 3D for developing games for the iPad. It has a growing number of users as it’s base version is free to use…so you can get your feet wet and actually develop a game before you have to purchase the pro version that will allow you to create it for iOS.

  17. Chuck says:

The Simon Allardice tutorials on iPhone & SQL are OUTSTANDING, he really has a great sensibility when teaching, very relevant subjects that are presented logically.
Would love to see tutorials on geolocation, and databasing things locally and remotely.
A few chapters on the ins/outs of submitting a final app to the iTunes Store as a small business, would be helpful too.
A primer in Cocoa Touch / Objective C would be helpful too, as you must understand the foundation in order to build successful apps.
Thanks again for including iOS programming in your library, it is hard to find good tutorials that are both current and informative, keep up the great work!

  18. I’d like to see some courses on Unity3D.

  19. skinney says:

We are in the process of digitizing 800 CDs and want to use an ipad as a touchscreen jukebox interface to mount on the wall and be used by people who don’t routinely use computers.

  20. Andrew says:

Building apps for the iPad to use in training and education

  21. Hi: I would like to have trainings on the new Epub 3 specs. This is pretty exciting as it will include more flexible interactivity and multimedia functions.
Also, using Flash functionality for export to HTML5

  22. Bruce cameron says:

I am interested in making ebooks. I like InDesign, but the InDesign magazine and most tutorials and how to books do not cover this subject well. I need something that doesn’t need a geek programmer’s mindset to be successful with. Unfortunately, iPads strip all the interactivity out, and the Adobe Digital Magazine Suite is way too expensive and complicated. These are not issues you can address, but something that talks abut what can be done relatively easily would be a good start.

  23. Neil says:

How folks/organizations are integrating the iPad into their productivity workflows. Real-world examples from creative shops and content creators would be great.

  24. Gwen says:

    Managing and Troubleshooting iTune libraries

  25. @Ginger and @Bruce, keep your eyes peeled this week for a new course from lynda.com author Anne-Marie Concepción that explores creating EPUB content with InDesign. I’m definitely looking forward to learning from it myself!

  26. don delwood says:

    developer stuff:

(note: the courses on Lynda.com are great. ANYTHING by Simon Allardice is killer good!)

    - more detail on multi-view apps.

    - more exposure to broader range of Cocoa toolkit capabilities

    - more detail on development of universal apps

    - apps that store data files that sync with mac. data that stores on web sites.

    -

  27. Edie says:

I didn’t add an “other” to my poll, but I agree w/Maggie Gilman’s comment about photography, and Vicki’s comment about beginning the process of learning to program for the iPad.

  28. Thanks for the great feedback, everyone! Keep it coming!

  29. Frank Pinkston says:

    Weather conditions displays

  30. I am developing medical applications.

I have learned so much from lynda.com. Thanks for all the great work!

  31. Christel Bach says:

    educational apps!

  32. Abdul says:

I would like to see a true universal developer course building a multi-view app using the iPad and iPhone. It would be nice to see a “guest” developer break down a popular game like angry-birds or cut the rope or fruit ninja…As a developer I really need help connecting the dots and feel your tutorials briefly touch on a topic but not variations or more detail of the topic…

    Overall your courses are great!

  33. Bob W says:

How to interface the iPad with other devices: TV, weather sensors, musical instruments, medical devices, etc.

  34. walter steuber says:

I have an iPad, but I don’t get stirred up by its offerings. I don’t know what I want but I’ll know it when I see it.

  35. steve says:

    Mapping & GIS type apps

  36. Dan says:

I’ll be building Utility, Productivity and Financial applications.

  37. Jane Wilde says:

I want ideas for thinking about using developing the iPad for zooming, pulling, stretching and transforming information.

  38. Mike says:

I would love to see a series for ipad development with Appcelerator’s Titanium.

  39. Justin Hamburg says:

I am in technology training for a large organization and I would like to see videos on how to develop training for the iPad. Mobile learning is finally becoming a reality and the iPad is perfect for that.

  40. Dave says:

Data acquisition from sensors etc. with graphic representation of values

  41. Sean says:

More content aggregation via rss and multi-tasking music and/or video.

I also like the ios-related macprovideo (have a sub there too) content where they show using some frameworks like Appomator. Sometimes just doing the research and giving us the easy way is very useful and worth paying for the sub. So, how about something on ios titanium / appcelerator

  42. Distance learning apps and tools

  43. A Brown says:

I would also like to see courses on the UI when developing for iOS. How to develop basic UI elements.

  44. Blane says:

I think you need to teach about opengl and the graphic capabilities of the ipod and ipad software. You could incorporate this into a game package.

  45. John McCreery says:

For me, the biggest weakness of the iPad as a business tool is that I don’t have a way to keep multiple applications open simultaneously. They may be running in the background, but to switch between them, I have to do a two-step that involves hitting the home button to get back to the applications, touching the icon for the other application I need, then repeating the process to get back to where I started. This gets old real fast. I’d love to see some canny developer come up with a toolbar that would show me the last two or three most recently used applications, so I could pop over for a look, then touch “Done” to return to what I was doing. I know this capability is there. Flipbook does a great job of taking me to websites that expand on what I am reading and provide me with that “Done” button to take me back again. Now, if I could only do that from Pages to Keynote or Numbers or Filemaker Go or Mail or Safari. That would be totally cool and worth paying a substantial price for, too.

  46. ronald greti says:

More Advanced courses on iOS (iPhone/iPad) Development showing how to develop more sophisticated apps using local databases & web services using the cloud. I love your courses for iDev and want to see more of these. They are of very good quality. Thanks!

  47. Phil says:

I wouldn’t mind learning how to develop an ebook reader.

  48. Brian says:

    Use for Matte Painting Artist
Use the I pad 2 for a kind of a build in wamcom type tablet

  49. Matt Penna says:

Science and technology, like ac / dc circuit analysis. Also, education like eLearning or a classy way to connect to Blackboard or Moodle type LCMS. Finally, I would be delighted to learn how to make a portfolio as an iPad app to send out to clients and prospective employers… Thanks!

  50. ian morton says:

Creating iPad touch user interface in javavascript, web apps
Flash Builder 4 to mobile will be big, I think – easy to iPad, Android, Playbook
Automating builds with Ant etc, Flex sdk
Blackberry Playbook development, Flash Builder or WebWorks, which to use where
    Unity3D for myself
    WebGL perhaps, Away3D etc
