I need a course to show me how to use LinkedIn as a professional networking site, that is why I have subscribed to lynda.com’s programs. Do you teach it here?

LinkedIn has also been recommended to me repeatedly. Was looking for a workshop or course on best prartices. Wish Face book and Twitter course included LinkedIn as well.

I also use it. At first it was to buid connections but I soon realised that the majority of people there were more professional than on other social media sites. So I began to build my profile, ask for recommendations etc.

The restrictions that Linkedin imposes makes the information more reliable and there are more people with a sense of direction there so the results of research is often more valid.

The many groups can be a bit confusing. It’s constantly evolving and there are a lot of different uses poping up all the time. Getting to grips with it and getting the most out of it is not an easy task.

Thanks why I looked it up here. To see if you offered a course on how to use it best.

I haven’t joined LinkedIn, although it’s been recommended to me repeatedly. I probably will join in the near future, merely to see what/how I might use it.

I use LinkedIn, but I am sure not to its fullest extent. To have a course that would show me LinkedIn best practices would be very helpful. I have taken dozens of courses from lynda.com and I have found them all to be very professional and certainly well worth my investment. As my business grows, I plan to make lynda.com courses available to my staff.

Thanks for all of your comments so far! S and Matthew, you’re right, I think a lot of people use LinkedIn for research. Judy, the active discussion groups with the daily emails are a plus. Paul, we decided to ask for the five most relevant reasons to get an idea of the the more popular reasons our blog readers use LinkedIn (rather than for scientific research).

I would have to agree with both the above comments. No only is it useful for researching a potential client or position but the user groups are great as well. An additional tool I do like is the Amazon Book Queue that they have… I have used that for gathering some additional resources Keep up the great work lynda.com!!!
