No one can accuse me of all work and no play this past weekend, as I attended a special Hello Kitty artist signing called the Three Apples art exhibit at Royal/T in Culver City, CA with my friend, fellow Hello Kitty fan, and former colleague Kymberlee Weil of introNetworks. Above is a collage of some of the day’s highlights, me getting a signature by ‘Kitty Mama’ Yuko Yamaguchi (Hello Kitty head designer visiting from Tokyo) and Kymberlee with Tokidoki creator, and lynda.com Creative Inspirations subject Simone Legno — at the launch of the exclusive tokidoki for Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary collection.

We saw an amazing art show, curated by Jamie Rivadeneira, owner of pop-culture shop in Los Angeles, JAPAN LA. Contemporary artists and Hello Kitty fans including Gary Baseman, Ron English, Buff Monster, Camilla d’Errico, Luke Chueh, Deph, and Yosuke Ueno are just a few of the 80+ amazing artists that have created Hello Kitty one-of-a kind artworks on display.

I bought some super cute Tokidoki Hello Kitty items, and got inspiration for my Halloween costume where I plan to channel a nerdy Hello Kitty.

  1. Too cute! I’m a huge Hello Kitty fan and I absolutely love lynda.com – I was surprised (and thrilled!) to read about both in your November newsletter! I’m totally jealous of your lunch box!
